Hi, Kirsty here, the human behind Wilde Illustrations, currently living and sometimes thriving in leafy Johannesburg, South Africa.

I love animals, big trees, quiet moments, any craft, giving creatures human names, laughing until my stomach hurts, and buying books that I never finish.

I don’t like left overs, loud noises, unkindness, surprise phone calls, spiders, and public speaking.

My illustrations are a reflection of finding joy in the little things. Being able to spend time with an object in an exploratory way is my favourite part of drawing. While I may still identify a car by its colour before its make, I enjoy uncovering the smaller details in the drawing process. To take the time to know all the nooks of a flower that once existed or a building someone once created is quite special.
